Sian is a dynamic leader with 10 years of experience specialising in Black Feminism, Intersectionality and Anti-Racism in the context of domestic and sexual violence and abuse, working as a consultant, practitioner, and researcher. Currently leading We Are Frieda CIC as its Director, she has steered the organisation to become the sole Mixed and Black heritage provider of the Level 3 Independent Domestic Violence and Abuse Advocate training in the UK. Pushing for intersectionality to be the foundation of all practice for all professionals. Her innovative contributions also include the development of intersectional risk assessments endorsed by The Domestic Abuse Commissioner’s Office demonstrating her commitment to inclusive and culturally sensitive support. Sian’s work underscores the importance of understanding Active Intersectionality and the diverse experiences of victim-survivors in the context of both structural violence and coercive and controlling violence and abuse. Deeply committed to social justice, Sian is passionate about challenging and transforming systems to achieve meaningful change.
